While our work togerther is totally custom to you, your business, and your growth stage, here’s a general sense of what we’ll focus on:

  • Stronger customer acquisition (where are the gaps in your customer journey and how can we address them?)

  • Clarified positioning—are you talking about your work to the right people and in a compelling way? (this is where skilled, outside perspective is invaluable)

We’ll work out meaningful goals and KPIs together, but in general my aim is to increase your audience engagement and/or to increase sales.

  • No, that’s not the function of our work together. I’ll certainly be on hand to help with strategy, editing, and planning, but I won’t be writing your content for you or managing your social media.

    My focus is making sure you’re creating—or investing in—the right content in the first place.

    I’m your strategy person.

    I save you time, money, and headache by figuring out what’s worth doing and in what order. Far too many business owners spend thousands a month on an agency or a sales rep without measurable returns because the work isn’t anchored in a well-defined strategy. I’ve seen too many startups go out of business because of this—they prioritized “shiny” spending and didn’t do the work to build sustainable traction with their audience/funders.

    Alongside that—I can be a valuable strategic editor. If you’re a thought leader and/or you’re an education-based brand, I’ll help you shape, refine, and develop your body of work.

  • Advising is generally more personal, closer to coaching, and we’re focused more on you as a person. If you’re wanting to gain clarity on big-picture career direction, develop yourself within your business, or have a trusted partner to talk out decisions with, look at advising.

    If you need to sort out your marketing in a big way, or wish you had strategic marketing help on staff without having to pay the full salary, Growth Consulting is probably the best fit. It’s strategic direction paired with consulting/implementation. I’m much more involved in your business, dedicating a day a week and a significant chunk of my brain to your success.

    In advising my primary client is you (I might see you through multiple businesses and broader life transitions). In consulting my primary client is your business (I’m here to help establish systems-level change).

  • We’ll start with a 6-month contract and go from there. Generally speaking, I’d say expect to spend a year together. Six months is where we start to see traction and a return on your investment. If I don’t believe I can have a substanial impact on your goals/growth/sales in 6-12 months, I won’t work with you.

    Think of me as a fractional chief marketing officer and budget for me accordingly—$48,000 annually for in-depth strategic support and direction. A great alternative to—or stepping stone toward—a full-time marketing hire.

  • A retainer like this represents a day a week of my time. We’ll sort out the specifics together (meeting frequency, deliverables, etc.)

    I work with one growth consulting client at a time to ensure you’re getting my sharpest, most grounded and creative self.
