Client Testimonials

A photo of a blank paper fortune teller I found on the street, collaged over a close up photo of a bright "bad art" painting I did.

“Kate has been instrumental in helping us lay better foundations for our sales, marketing, and business design.

Kate has this uncanny ability to take in a lot of information (both said and unsaid) and distill it into clear and digestible next steps. It's hard to imagine how we would have sifted through the many-layered mess we were in last year without Kate's keen eye and thoughtful support. It is no wonder some of her clients see her as their business therapist."

— Nathan Clarke, Director of Craft & Production Coolican & Company + Co-Founder Toronto Woodturning

“I've wasted so much money on consultants who are great self-promoters but provide little actual value in their services.

Kate is different. She works hard to understand the DNA of your business...and also of you, your values, your management style, your goals and your dreams. So when I get insights and guidance from her, it's thoughtful and realistic. She is now one of my trusted advisors and I am so glad I got over my initial (very strong) skepticism.”

— Kristen Ma, Naturopathic Doctor + Co-Founder Pure + Simple + Founder Holistic Vanity

  • "Kate really takes the time to understand you and your work. Her insightful questions and wisdom have supported me so brilliantly in the creation of my work and business. I am so grateful for her help and support on my journey."

    — Trace Bell, Psychedelic Coach + Co-Founder Open Aware

  • “I always feel more confident after talking to you. I’m just so excited and energized by the prospect of a workable media plan that is in line with what matters to me and my vision for how I want my business to grow.”

    — Alison Manning, Owner Unraveled Yarn Shop

  • "Kate has a great way of asking questions to get you thinking about what really matters when it comes to marketing your services. This was a game changer for me, because I realized my client work goes deep and I don't need a huge following on Instagram to be successful."

    — Cindy Hurley Leister, Executive Coach & Mindfulness Facilitator Blue Mountains Coaching

“Being in Kate’s presence allows me to connect with myself and understand where I am with my business and what is standing in my way.

During our sessions, her thoughtful questions and active listening are really helpful for me to sort out my thoughts. Her approach to marketing is refreshing because she never makes me feel like I need to do certain things to fit into a mold. Instead, we create the mold that is unique to me and my business and from there I feel empowered to market myself in a way that’s authentic and achievable.

In a few sessions, I had so much clarity on how to build on what already exists and create a sustainable marketing strategy to take my business forward. Thank you Kate!”

— Taheera Fidaali, Fractional CFO & Founder Tula CPA. Co-Founder The Well Collaborative

  • "Every time we get off of a call with Kate we feel empowered, energized, and clear. She takes you out of the weeds and back to what's most important so you spend less time spinning out and more time moving in the direction you truly want to go."

    — Tina Marie Olsen, Executive Coach + Co-Founder Open Aware

  • “Kate is so kind, caring, and genuine. Her unique skillsets and ways of conducting conversation led to so many good reflections and realizations both in my business and in my life in general.”

    — Zoë Martos, Watercolour Artist Zoë Martos Studio + Founder Selkeys Consulting

  • “Working with you really sparked the idea that if someone else could believe in me so much then I should probably start believing in myself too. This new confidence is helping me look at my business as an actual business instead of something I am too afraid to fully embody.”

A note on testimonials:

Like many of us, I have conflicting feelings on testimonials and how they’re often used unethically as a sales tactic, to virtue signal, or as social proof that feeds our egos more than it helps a potential client.

In curating testimonials to share here, I’ve focused on how people feel during/after talking to me and the skills I have that tend to be valuable for the people I work with. Less out-of-context outcomes and value judgments—i.e. “Best money I’ve spent!”—and more on my approach or the role I play in your business because that is what translates most widely.

Even if you don’t put weight in the testimonials themselves (I often don’t on other people’s websites), I’ve decided it’s valuable to see a list of names and companies I’ve worked with in order to show examples and further your own due diligence.

May it also serve as a growing directory of great small businesses! (Buy a chair you’ll own for life! Holistic Vanity takes unbelievable care in sourcing ingredients & developing skincare products! Make this the year you get into knitting!)
